Reactive Dog Training in Ottawa
Your dog lunges, barks, pulls toward other dogs — and walks have become a thing you dread. There's a way out, and it doesn't involve a prong collar or a shock.
Ottawa is full of busy sidewalks, off-leash parks and apartment hallways. A reactive dog isn't broken — they're overwhelmed. We teach them the skills to cope.
How we approach reactivity
Reactivity is an emotional problem first and a training problem second. We start by getting your dog under threshold so they can actually learn, then build new associations with the triggers that set them off.
Most clients see meaningful progress in 6–8 sessions. Serious cases take longer, and we'll be honest about that at the consultation.

Frequently asked questions
Will my dog ever be 'normal' on walks?
Most reactive dogs can absolutely have calm, enjoyable walks. 'Cured' isn't the right word — managed, confident and predictable is.
Do you use prong or e-collars?
No. Aversive tools suppress behaviour without changing the underlying emotion, and they often make reactivity worse long-term.
Can you help with dog-to-dog reactivity inside my home?
Yes. Inter-household reactivity is one of the toughest problems we work on, and it requires a careful, structured plan.
