Dog Behaviourist in Ottawa
Aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, severe fear — these aren't obedience problems. They're behaviour problems, and they need a different approach.
If your dog has bitten, lunged at a child, can't be left alone, or is making your household stressful, you need a plan — not another 'sit-stay' class.
What a behaviour case looks like
We start with a long consultation — usually 90 minutes — to understand history, triggers, household setup and your goals. Then we build a written behaviour plan with management, training and (where appropriate) a referral to a veterinary behaviourist.
We work in private in-home sessions only. Behaviour cases never belong in a group setting.
- Behaviour-focused assessment, not basic obedience
- Aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, fear
- Bite history cases — handled with realism and zero judgement
- Coordination with your vet for medical / medication support

Frequently asked questions
My dog bit someone. Can you help?
Yes. Bite-history cases are a regular part of our work. We'll assess honestly, set realistic goals, and build a safety plan first.
Will medication be necessary?
Sometimes. For severe anxiety or panic-based cases, behaviour meds (prescribed by your vet) can be life-changing. We don't prescribe — we coordinate.
How is this different from regular training?
Obedience teaches your dog what to do. Behaviour work changes how your dog feels. They're different skill sets — and behaviour cases need someone trained for them.
